According to the National Alliance of Mental Illness, 1 in 4 adults will experience mental illness in a given year.  1 in 20 Americans live with a serious mental illness, such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, or Major Depression.

Mental illness can be debilitating; affecting ones perception, ability to cope, social interactions, and even physical health.

Mental illness does not discriminate.  It affects all races, religions, socioeconomic backgrounds, and ages.  In fact, half of all mental illnesses show signs before the age of 14 and 75% begin before the age of 24.

Some believe that mental illnesses are a weakness, but this is a myth.  Actually, mental illness is a medical condition, similar to diabetes and asthma, and with treatment, many can recover and live productive lives.
